Mueller Nicholls Builders sponsors Oakland East Bay Symphony’s 2010 – 2011 Season Opening Concert

OAKLAND, CA—October 2010

Mueller Nicholls is thrilled to once again be sponsoring the Oakland East Bay Symphony’s very special 2010-2011 Season Opening concert! This concert features the first composition for full orchestra by multiple Grammy® Award winning songwriter, producer and drummer Narada Michael Walden. The World Premier of his composition The Enchanted Forest will feature Walden himself on drums, and none other than local guitar hero Carlos Santana on guitar. Carlos will also be performing three other selections, including his arrangement of George Harrison’s While My Guitar Gently Weeps, one of the songs on his acclaimed new album Guitar Heaven, just released on September 21st.

Mueller Nicholls has proudly sponsored the Oakland East Bay Symphony for over three years, as we are a company of not only builders, but also music lovers. We became especially excited about the Oakland East Bay Symphony, the secret gem of the East Bay, when we learned about OEBS’ mission to augment the public schools’ shrinking music programs.

While music and building are different fields, we have observed over the years that being a general contractor is much like being a conductor, only with a more disparate, occasionally bristly, always ever-changing “orchestra” that includes subcontractors, suppliers, city officials, design professionals, and other consultants. We sometimes marvel how organized our jobsites can be, given this cast of hundreds.

We congratulate Maestro Michael Morgan on his wonderful ongoing passion for diversity in music, and we can’t wait to hear this ground-breaking performance! Bravo!
